Malta and My New Studio...

Malta. I don't remember how much I paid- about $1 something I think. I found it at the corner store when my mom was in town and I bought it because that guy on Top Chef talked about it, well and because of this whole trying something new each week thing. Um... Richard was the Top Chef guy. It was pretty good. I probably wouldn't add it to my grocery list, but I don't drink soda all that often. Very fragrant, it smelled sort of like burnt caramel and tasted like a more pungent root beer. Really, it wasn't half bad until I added Scotch.

Soon, very soon, I will be back in the studio, working feverishly on making pretty little metal things for you to wear. And for me to wear. And for everyone else to wear too. Today, however, was spent moving. My dad, a painter who lives in SoHo, has a gorgeous studio space attached to his loft. Really, it's bigger than my whole apartment! AND fortunately for me, he's offered me a spot to work too! For the last year, I've been working in one corner of his studio, and when I stopped by to visit yesterday, he told me his plans to move me in the next month or so to another corner. I had today off so I figured why not now? So today, my dad put up some shelves for me and I moved my "jewelers' bench" (which is really an old drafting table) and the rest of my stuff. I still have to organize everything but I'm going to have sooo much more space and shelving, etc. I can tell already it's gonna be great!
